USA Diving - 2004 Olympian

Soldati, a native of Longmont, CO, claims as her favorite verse, “Everything is possible for him who believes” (Mark 9:23).  Kimiko’s life is testimony to this truth.  Soldati’s passion to compete in Olympic gymnastics ended prematurely with a knee injury; however, that injury ultimately led her to diving, the Olympics, and most importantly, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Soldati swam at Indiana University where she also holds B. A. and M. A. degrees.  In 2000, Kimiko and husband Adam, moved to Texas to train with Coach Kenny Armstrong and fellow-diver Laura Wilkinson.  It was a life-changing move.  Soldati’s diving accomplishments began to reflect both national and international achievement and she was challenged to explore and develop her faith in Jesus Christ.

In 2004 Soldati realized her Olympic dream.  Hampered by shoulder injuries since 1995, she was struck with injury again during the Olympics.  The pain she experienced kept her from having the performance she desired; yet, her faith helped her handle the adversity with character and integrity.  Kimiko Soldati is sharing with others “that going for the gold means more than winning medals” as she travels with The Revolve Tour in 2005.  More information is available about her accomplishments and her faith at her website www.kimiko-usa.com

Closet prayed specifically for Kimiko during the Olympics.  The following is an update on her shoulder injury that hampered her Olympic performance:
Kimiko writes that she is doing well.  Her shoulder ended up being torn which is why her shoulder caused her so much pain during the Olympics.  She had surgery on her shoulder and was then able to remove the sling in early January.  She started doing rehabilitation after that.  She reports that the shoulder is feeling better and better.  She is speaking at different events and churches and excited about signing on with Women of Faith’s teen tour called Revolve!
Prayer focus

Kimiko writes that she and Adam are trying to start their family and would like our prayers concerning this. Also, her husband, Adam, is looking at a possible transition in his career; they want to be in God’s will and make the correct decisions regarding where God wants them to be.  Please pray that the Soldati’s will have discernment and that God will specifically open and shut doors for them as they make this decision.  Pray for Kimiko and the other speakers preparing for the Revolve Tour in 2005.  Pray for safety in her many travels over the next year.  Pray that Adam and Kimiko will experience the peace and presence of Christ in their lives daily.

I prayed for Kimiko Soldati today.

"Find a quiet, secluded place [a closet] so you won't be tempted to role play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can imagine. The focus will shift from you to God and you will begin to sense His grace". Matthew 6:6 The Message
